Most people don’t want to read the full Bio, so here’s the extended remix!
I’m Sean McCormack, a Galway based photographer, with an interest in photographing people and places. The main focus of my work is People photography and I’m really experienced with studio and natural light. Lots of people like that work. I also write books and magazine articles on Lightroom and lighting. They get a good response.. fortunately.
Work leads you on various different paths, so of late I’ve been shooting for Nightclubs (Carbon) and Property (for Airbnb as a verified photographer) as well as doing Headshots, and Model portfolios. The property work might seem like a big departure, but a lot of the skills carry over from shooting people to lighting places and I’ve become quite experienced at it.
I’ve been shooting for over 15 years now, beginning right at the start of Digital photography as we know it. I started with a film SLR though, and began with Black and White photography, processing my own film in the darkroom. That doesn’t mean much, it’s just where I began. I’d truly love to learn how to do tintypes though.
I started photography with Band work . I’ve shot a bunch of CD covers for a number of bands, as well as loads of promo and live band work. I’ve shot music videos-pretty basic ones, and I’ve done courses on documentary video. I’m starting to shoot more video as personal work too.
I’m married and live in a ground floor apartment with my beautiful wife Cynthia, and our son Matthew.
